Manager: Mendilibar – 7/10
Mendilibar’s lineup performed excellently. Olympiacos controlled the game even while conceding possession to the Dutch side, remaining structured and dangerous in transition. It’s hard to assign blame to the coach for what unfolded at the end; the plan worked nearly to perfection, only undone by a single late lapse.
Tzolakis – 5/10
A generally standard display from the young goalkeeper. Some strikes from Vermeeren caused him issues in judging his exits, and while PSV produced few real chances, the equaliser—arguably their only serious attempt—found him unable to respond adequately. Hence, the low mark.
Retsos – 7/10
Another strong, captain-like performance. He handled a number of defensive situations with composure and leadership. His visible frustration at full-time was justified, given how well the team had defended up until the late goal.
Pirola – 9/10
Arguably his best appearance in red and white. He seemed unbeatable, winning every duel, covering large defensive spaces, and executing crucial tackles. A standout on the night.
Rodinei – 6/10
Overall one of the better performers, contributing well in attack while also providing several defensive interventions. However, on the equalising goal he did not manage to step out in time for the offside trap, keeping the scorer onside—an error that ultimately affected his rating.
Ortega – 6/10
A solid first half, playing with confidence. He recovered possession well and delivered several crosses with good potential. After the break, however, he began to struggle—understandably affected by fatigue—as PSV increased their pressure down his flank.
García – 6/10
Used his experience to operate quietly yet effectively, supporting both midfield structure and circulation. He attempted two volleyed efforts, one of which led to Gelson hitting the post. His body couldn’t keep up for much longer and, fatigued, he was substituted around the hour mark.
Mouzakitis – 7/10
Arguably his first standout display of the season after a stretch without much playing time. He was key to ball retention, helping progression while contributing to defensive stability. In the dying moments he found himself isolated when defending outside the box and conceded the foul from which PSV eventually equalised.
Gelson – 9/10
Another player delivering his first major performance of the season — a reminder of his undeniable quality. Full of intent, he opened the scoring with a comic-book strike: a magnificent first touch followed by a brilliant volley. He relentlessly troubled the Dutch defence with his bursts forward. Had he been slightly more clinical in a few situations, a perfect rating would have been justified.
Podence – 6/10
Energetic and determined. Defensively, his numbers were unusually high, showing genuine effort. He took initiatives going forward but without tangible end product.
Ciquinho – 6/10
Similarly active. Showcased his superb technique on several occasions — particularly with the assist for the opening goal. He also produced a major chance in the 31st minute, denied by the opposing goalkeeper. Overall, he might have done more in terms of efficiency in key moments.
El Kaabi – 6/10
Hard-working as always, chasing down every ball and trying to create presence up front. However, he neither managed to find the net nor deliver decisive final passes on this occasion.
Substitutes (Not Rated)
Nascimento – Provided fresh legs and energy. Delivered the pass preceding Gelson’s chance in the 83rd minute.
Taremi – Struggled to contribute; lost possession in several poor moments.
Scipioni – Played aggressively but could not help prevent the equaliser.
Costinha – Added defensive support but failed to clear his area in the decisive goal sequence.
